Dave Coalter is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in trauma (including sexual trauma), juvenile sex offenses, family Counseling, and group Counseling for a variety of issues, for both males and females. He uses multiple modes of treatment, each tailored to the individual client. He Counsels children, adults, couples, and families.
Dave holds degrees in Psychology and Christian Ministry from Southwest Baptist University, and studied at both Forest Institute of Professional Psychology and Evangel University, graduating with honors from the latter. He is a member of Alpha Chi and Psi Chi honor societies, and was inducted into Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities in 2000.
In addition to working as a Counselor, Dave has held a variety of positions from fry cook to real estate agent. He has served as a pastor and youth pastor. As a former magazine editor, he has been published multiple times on a variety of subjects. He has also traveled widely, encountering a multitude of races, ethnicities, religions, and cultures. These varied experiences provide a wealth of insight and understanding upon which he draws to help his clients find healing, recognizing that every client is an individual with unique perspectives, perceptions, and needs.
As a survivor of abuse himself, Dave is acutely aware of the pain that life sometimes brings. He has experienced firsthand what it means to be rejected, hurt, addicted, and even homeless. It is because of these experiences that Dave is committed to bringing emotional and mental healing to his clients. He believes that every individual deserves to be cared for, accepted, and provided with the best possible opportunity to grow and heal, free from guilt, judgment, and shame. “There is always hope, there is always help, there is always a better way.”
